The Motoron M2H18v20 Dual High-Power Motor Controller for Raspberry Pi (No Connectors/Standoffs) is a sophisticated device designed to manage DC motors via a Raspberry Pi (Model B+ or newer) through an I²C interface. It is capable of supporting motor supply voltages ranging from 6.5 to 30 V and can consistently deliver output currents up to 20 A for each motor. This particular model is solely the motor controller, devoid of any connectors or mounting hardware.
The M2H18v20 controller belongs to the Motoron M2H family of dual high-power motor controller add-on boards. These controllers are engineered to stack atop a Raspberry Pi, akin to a HAT (Hardware Attached on Top), and allow for multiple controllers to be stacked together, enabling independent control of numerous motors. The Raspberry Pi communicates with the Motoron using I²C, requiring only two GPIO pins, irrespective of the number of Motorons connected.
